Lia Maute

A realist and detail-oriented with her creations, Lia enjoys creating art using a variety of media with pastels, colored pencils, oils, watercolors, and pen and ink being her favorite in rendering people and animals. She also loves to create computer graphics using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Lia enjoys visiting art galleries, museums, and shows and studying beautiful works of art.

Lia, who has been deaf since birth, has loved to draw and paint since she was four years old. She received technical training and graduated with degrees in Liberal Arts and Science, Illustration and Pictorial Arts-Painting from Palomar College in San Marcos, California.

She is a member of the San Diego Pastel Society and San Diego Visual Arts and won many awards. Lia creates her artworks from sketches and/ or reference photos she has taken or has been commissioned to render. She finds great pleasure in the joy her commissioned pieces bring to families and friends.

Lia now lives in Texas with her husband, Chris and cat, Milky.
